Project Thunderbolt, The LS3 V8 Miata - Part 11: More Exhaust and First Start & Drive!

In this update, it’s time for the most thrilling, yet nerve wracking moments a car guy will ever experience- the first start and drive of a newly built car! But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, we’ve still got tons of work to do before turning the key. First we need to fab up the rear section of the exhaust, which will play a key role in giving Thunderbolt its signature sound.

Next, all of the stock interior bits are reinstalled, culminating with the leather and suede MazdaSpeed GT seats being bolted back in place. Next a Moroso air/oil separator is installed to keep the intake tract clean, the fenders and bumper are bolted back on and the final modifications are made to fit the Corvette ZO6 air intake snorkel that will give the hungry LS3 an all-it-can-eat buffet of fresh, cool air.

After fluids are filled, brakes are bled and every nut and bolt is checked for the 10th time, the key is turned and the LS3 V8 Miata comes to life!

Here's the video version of this update. Check it out!

Thanks for reading and watching, see ya next time!
