Tom's Turbo Garage is my YouTube Channel where I take on a variety of projects and builds, ranging from straightforward bolt-ons to more complicated stuff. In each episode, I'll show you all of the steps that it took to get the job done, and may even have a laugh or two along the way. I make these videos because I love sharing my car hobby with everyone. Thanks for watching!
My car websites:
1991 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4
A rally-bred sports sedan for the streets! This was Mitsubishis show of force back in the early 90s. This car boasted a
successfull world rally racing campaign and impressive performance and technical specs. Oh and I've turned it into a 400+hp sleeper.
2008 Lexus IS-F
A family hauler, comfy highway cruiser and race car all smashed into one vehicle. Now that's my idea of a darn great car!
Old cars that I've sold, but miss dearly
1991 Eagle Talon Tsi All Wheel Drive
A turbocharged sports coupe that offers incredible potential and bang for the buck performance value, then and now! I had lots of fun with this car
turning it from a tired stocker to a 600+hp tire spinning beast!
1987 Buick Grand National
A moment of absolute General Motors glory wrapped in a black suit. This was an excellent car that people loved. Driving it is like being in a parade:
folks waving, smiling and wanting to talk about it at length. Oh and it would just roast the tires off. Ha!
1992 Mazda Miata Turbo
"That's a girls car!" Let me tell ya, if I could have a dollar for every time I've heard that one. Girl car comments
aside, I wanted a cheap, lightweight, rear wheel drive roadster that I could add a turbo to easily, and no other car fit the order like the
Mazda Miata. I picked up this car in the summer of 2007 and love it. Read all about the turbo build and more at the link.
1989 Mirage Turbo (4G63 Powered)
Here's my sleeper. Lightweight, well over 400hp to the wheels and a plain jane exterior that screams "no need to look at me!"
2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
I waited 10 years for Mitsubishi to bring the world-beating Lancer Evolution to the U.S. When it finally did, it wasn't a
watered-down version like some had anticipated. Instead it packs a 271hp 4G63 engine mated to a 5 speed driving all 4 wheels.
Since it was my destiny, I picked one up in December of 2003. It was a fun ride, but I had to sell her to make room for other toys after just
1988 Mitsubishi Starion
This is my early attempt at a purpose-built drag car. Inspired by and patterned after the rear wheel drive 4G63 cars that Buschur Racing had
built over the years, it features a Buschur Racing Stage 3 engine mated to a GM/TCI Powerglide automatic transmission. Adapting this
drivetrain into this platform was made possible by the swap parts that Buschur racing offers. I sold this car in the summer of 2005.
